I had an experience last week that left a real bad taste in my mouth, and lead me to immediately unsubscribe to the lists I am on from the marketer. The product was HyperVRE, and distributed by Matt Callen. It is a smooth piece of software, and would be a great addition to any marketer’s arsenal. It is similar in effect to Traffic Hurricane, if any of you are familiar with that particular product.

As they offered a free version, I jumped on it immediately, as I like to test software before I buy. I read over the sales page, and saw nothing out of the ordinary.

A couple of days later I received an email from Bob Hampton explaining that although this is a good deal if you are building Adsense sites, that you should be aware that if using the free version, then all the affiliate links belonged to the person you downloaded from. Huh? What’s with that? Of course, it pissed me off, and I immediately un-installed the software. I thought that it might just be me, but a thread on the Niche Maniac’s forum informed me that I was not the only one deceived by this, and the thread was a bit lively…
