The Best Things In Life Are Free (Revisited)

I know people struggle out there. I’ve done it, still do it, and spend a ton of cash trying to rectify a lot of situations that could easily be done for free.

Recently, I purchased The List FX from Keith Wellman, and a bonus is a private forum where you can go to find answers to some of your more thorny questions. The forum is new, and the jury is still out, but Keith has been well received, and his testimonials are by top people. (Which doesn’t mean squat to me - Dr. Fire recommends EVERYTHING :>) ) But the content is good, and I am learning from it.

One post on the forum mentioned a site that helps you deal with server errors. I have been struggling with a new fishing site that is from Niche Mania, and recently upgraded the Control Panel for RSS Feeds. Even though I followed Big Mike’s instructions to the letter, when I republished, a lot of the content was missing. So I generated a support ticket and am waiting for a reply. As Mike is in Greece, it can take a day or two to get back a reply, so of course I am a bit frustrated with the whole situation.

Reading server error logs can be boring, a waste of time, and mostly doesn’t give you the answers you need. Now there is a solution. Gsite Crawler has a little tool that is very helpful in determining the errors on your server. It is a web based app, and it works great. I input the URL of the fishing lure site, run the engine, and found that the site is in need of a lot of help. But now I at least know what the problem is. Give it a try if you have issues with your server and want to know exactly what they are…

Peace,

Charlie~
