A New Approach To Marketing With Blogger

In a previous report, I have detailed how my son Nick has set up a blog on Blogger, made one post in July 2005, and has managed to achieve a PR of 2/10 with that one post. OTOH, the blog here at FTR is currently receiving a PR of 3/10, and I have 1,000 approx pages of content, the site is optimized for the SE’s, and every thing I can possibly do has been done to insure a good ranking.

Traffic increases to the site daily, and I try to post on a bi-weekly basis. As this is the home page for Allnut Enterprises, I use the site to “brand” the company.

All this is labor intensive. As I work full time on the internet, and make my living with my efforts, I find a bit of injustice to these outcomes.

Being a bit of an opportunist, though, and seeing the results of Nick’s “efforts“, I had an “A Ha!” moment.

If Nick can achieve a PR of 2/10 with one article a year ago, what would happen if I were to set up an intensive campaign using Blogger?

Here is what I am doing…

I have an account with Blogger - no big deal, I guess - everyone prolly does! I did my due diligence on my newest niche market (yoga) and have gathered keywords, content, images, etc, and built a sales page at http://www.benefitofyogaonline.com. As this was a package I received through my membership with the Rich Jerks Alliance, I rebuilt the graphics, and re-wrote the sales copy, using skills I have as a writer and marketer.

I then went to Blogger, and set up two blogs, using the main keyword phrases I targeted for the blog name. The blogs are Benefit Of Yoga & Yoga For Beginner. It took me all of a half hour to accomplish this.

I then built a banner for the new site at Benefits Of Yoga and pasted it into the template at Blogger, making it clickable to the site with the sales page. I have begun to post articles I have written, rewriting them from the PLR content from R-J, and am taking advantage of the feature I like the best about Blogger - the ability to post blog comments from other sites into my own Blogger site.

This AM, I posted an article on Yoga For Beginners, and I will check to see how soon it shows up in the SE’s. I will add an article every day or two, and blog from other yoga sites using the Blog This! feature. And then we shall see…

I love blogs. It is the best way to post relevant content and the occasional rant that I know of. I have to ask myself why should I spend so much time setting up WP blogs when my marketing efforts would be simpler and more convenient using Blogger. Yes, I do not have the control over the site I wish to have. I can’t check stats, which is one of the biggest tools I use in my marketing efforts. I can be banned on the whim of Google. but if I can set up a blog in 10 minutes, get it ranked quickly, and post conveniently and quickly, then what is the big deal?

Stay tuned…

Peace,

Charlie`
