A Good Example of Marketing Skills

I am sure everyone has heard all the hype and buzz about John Reel’s GoTryThis Black Hat SEO software by now, and the rush has been on. this has been a really good piece of internet marketing, and I am told that it is selling out very quickly. Everyone has jumped on his bandwagon, and I get a ton of email notifications every day saying that if I don’t purchase this, I will be crying over it.

Yeah, right! Did I purchase? Yes, I did, but for reasons other than what it is hyped to do. John Reel credits himself as a master programmer, having spent the last 12 years (according to him) doing this and self-reportedly becoming a master at it. Don’t know about that, but do know that this is a good piece of software for anyone wishing to increase affiliate sales, track ad campaigns, and a lot of other things. I read on the GTT forum of a lady that is even using this powerful software as a download manager. The possibilities are endless, and one can only have boundaries that are limited by their imaginations using Black Hat SEO.

Is it really Black Hat, though? I have the opinion that anyone can utilize black hat SEO methods one way or another, and am not a judge to question anyone’s ethics or efforts. I do know, however, that there are features that I will not use, such as an embedded rotating cookie that stays on the site and “cookies” the unsuspecting surfer with a cookie for the product you aren’t even affiliated with, or are not currently promoting. Yes, I said rotating.

There is something here for everyone. Eric Holmund tells it better than I do, so check out his review. I do not particularly like John’s marketing technique, but it makes sales, and that is the whole point of this article. He has used what I call “them against Us” and the “renegade” approach to make his sales. this is good marketing skills, and notes studying. His technique has helped him sell out very quickly. there are many things here John has done - created urgency, a good call to action, and he instills the thought that all the “big guys” will be upset with him for releasing this product.

Will they? Prolly not. the techniques he has applied to this software are readily available to anyone, and the information can be found on the web with a little (or lot!!) of digging. Always remember, this really IS the information super highway. I remember in the early days of the web that the coolest thing was the Anarchist’s Cookbook, and now we are getting so advanced in technology that almost anything is possible, and the information is out there. Just go look…

I would recommend this software, but only to those who would use it responsibly and ethically. We have enough spammers and spyware/malware freaks out there, and we surely don’t need another generation of them. Give it a try, and see where it leads you…
